The Iftar and dinner gatherings have taken off in the community.
Many mosques across the Greater Toronto Area provide meals to fasting Muslims every day.
This is a good thing.
However, we need to keep an eye on the extravagance of some dinner gatherings. Would it not be better to keep it simple and contribute something to charity or to the needy?
I am also impressed by the great hospitality of the volunteers at the IMO Mosque in Rexdale and their excellent service while providing meals to hundreds of people.
